These credit cards are not right for everyone. There is no usual type of person that is an offshore credit card holder. Traveling individuals, corporate entities, and people with special circumstances that require international financing, have all signed up for one. If international finance is a necessity in your business then an offshore credit card might be a good investment.
If you are someone that uses your credit card on a day-to-day basis, could you name everyone one that you handed that card to? Anyone who has access to your credit card numbers can try to perform credit card fraud. This is scary but something that we should take very seriously. Make sure that you are careful with your receipts. Always tear or shred up any papers that have your credit card numbers on them before you throw them away. Never give out your information over the phone or to anyone that you do not know or your are unsure of. You do not have to feel obligated no matter how hard someone tries to make you give out the information.
Okay, so you've got your first credit card. Now it's time to go completely crazy and spend like a trust fund kid. Right? Well, if that's your big plan, I'd do some re-thinking. It's certainly understandable that credit cards can be rather intriguing. In fact, they offer us poor college students or broke newly weds an extra form of capital; which can actually allow us to spend beyond our means. However, this wild behavior will only get you in a bind. This is what all the major credit card companies want you to do. Take my advice and don't fall for it. The last thing you need is a big debt to worry about.
Using a credit card to work up a huge debt is probably the easiest thing a young adult can do. Reasons unknown, all of us feel more comfortable handling a credit card than handling cash. |
